A garden gome after being hurled in fury at a windscreen on divorce day.
Winner of the most daring and innovative European Museum project 2011 'The Museum of Broken Relationships' has arrived at the Tristan Bates Theatre and 38 Earlham Street - in Covent Garden.
The exhibition features a diverse array of seemingly ordinary yet incredibly poiniant objects donated by individuals from around the world, each telling a story about a past relationship. Some of the objects and quotes on display are funny, some are angry, but all however are steeped in meaning and nostalgic attachment attributed to a failed relationship. Here is your opportunity to take a voyeuristic peek into other people's relationship break-ups.
Every anonymously donated object comes with a caption that includes the location, date and length of relationship attributed to it. You can also donate an object and exhibit your own legacy of lost love to the landmark exhibition.
Personally i think the big book ready for visitors to add their own testimonies as they leave is a compelling exhibition itself. Its a compendium of disappointment and desolation with some lyrical and pithy remarks. 'I think I still hate you Darren'
"Original for sure. From the cute to the bizarre, the museum encourages you to open your mind and your heart.” Mark Lowen, BBC.
