Synopsis by Sandra Hebron, London Film Festival
An eagerly awaited directorial debut from Tom Ford, the fashion legend and the man who makes a black suit and white shirt look a million dollars, has announced the arrival of a true filmmaking talent. Tom Ford’s ‘A Single Man’ is simply as elegant as the man himself. Based on a novel by Christopher Isherwood, this is a great debut movie that features fantastic performances by Colin Firth, Matthew Goode, Nicholas Hoult and Julianne Moore and it is truly a well written, poignant and witty, elegantly directed, stylish and beautifully photographed affair.
