Some of my favourite finds of 2010 include a book about flavours and a discovery of a wonderful world of collective nouns, which to me is one of the most magical thing about English language. To find inspiration or simply to cheer myself up I occasionally read through them so a few days ago, to my great delight, I stumbled upon prints designed by the Woop studio illustrating 50 or so animal groups. From a ‘Romp of Otters’ to a ‘Troubling of Goldfish’ Woop designers have managed to capture the quirk and humour of collective nouns in beautiful, charming way.
